A House Is Not a Home Unless It Protects You
“Your house is your larger body. It grows in the sun and sleeps in the stillness of the night; and it has dreams.” — Kahlil Gibran
Intention: Today, I intend to see home not as a place that holds me back, but as a space that helps me grow. Kahlil Gibran’s description of the house as a mast rather than an anchor brings a liberating perspective to the idea of property. A house is not merely a place with a locked door; it is where one does not have to fold their wings. When a property traps the soul, it becomes just walls. A home, however, offers both protection and direction. Look at the space you live in today: Does it constrict you, or does it call forth the better person within you? The true value of a house is not in its square footage, but in the warmth of the words spoken within it, the courage of the dreams harbored there, and the lightness of the person who walks out its door.
